If you are going to use batteries for storing your power generated from your wind turbine we recommend that you use an industrial deep cycle lead acid batter for low cost long term usage. A fork lift battery would be your best choice. From our field studies they outlive gel and agm batteries. They will far exceed any high quality consumer deep cycle battery.
If you can't afford the fork lift battery we recommend a exide deep cycle marine battery
these can take quite a punishment. Look for a battery that is the tallest. You want the longest plates possible. This will give you long term usage. No more than 8 - 10 years though. Fork lift batteries will far exceed 20 years. They are worth the investment.
